I am very excited about my journey to become a licensed therapist. I have enjoyed helping and working with others for my entire life, and I feel so thrilled to be working with clients.
I moved to Fort Collins from Iowa City in the summer of 2013. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University in 2016. I am currently a graduate student studying at Northwestern University to receive my Master of Arts in Counseling. My ultimate goal is to receive my licensure in counseling after graduate school and to open my own private practice.
I am particularly interested in working with those who struggle with anxiety, depression, and personality imbalances. These issues can impact daily functioning in a way that can become crippling. By working with clients that struggle in these areas, my hope is to help them reach healthy functioning and begin to thrive in all aspects of their lives. I prefer to use Acceptance and Behavioral Theory (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT), and Psychodynamic Theory for my therapeutic approach with clients. This approach allows the client to reflect on past experiences and current thought processes in order to gain more understanding and knowledge on what is really taking place within them. My hope is to work through areas of difficulty with my clients and be a catalyst on the journey towards their ultimate wellness. I believe therapy should feel empathetic, explorative, and challenging. I am truly passionate about being collaborative with my clients to help them reach a healthy level of functioning.
I look forward to working at Peak Clarity as an intern to grow my skills and build relationships with clients as a new practicing counselor.
In my free time, I enjoy being with my family and friends, listening to music, reading books, and writing.
Again, I look forward to this journey ahead of me. My goal is to be a successful therapist, available to help those who are struggling with their day-to-day life. Through support, patience and empathy, my goal is to help those I serve have better tools to get through the difficult times they are dealing with.
